It’s a state of emotional regulation, and the ability to cope with the stresses of everyday life. It’s working productively, realizing your full potential and being part of a community. When mental health is disrupted due to external circumstances and/or physiological disorders, it becomes difficult or impossible to carry on everyday tasks.

Dorothy uses her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychotherapy and addiction counseling to devise an individualized care strategy for each client. She has helped people with problems such as chronic worrying, panic, marital problems, parenting issues, women’s issues, divorce, life transitions, chronic illness, chronic pain, low esteem and job stress.

Dorothy also offers customized mental health workshops and seminars to employers, employees, schools and the community. Workshops on substance use and abuse, the effects in the work place, and the effects on individuals and families, can be tailored for any group situation. Seminars on cultural diversity, women and wellness are also offered, and can be customized according to the needs of the company or group setting.
