Dorothy OKeefe-Diana


Dorothy O’Keefe-Diana, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Trained Dialectical Behavioral Therapist is the Founder and Managing Director of the Madison Mental Health and Wellness Center Consulting Group, LLC based in Madison, New Jersey. Dorothy brings an impassioned dedication and insatiable commitment to help individuals and families find more effective ways to change their lives. She is an expert group clinician and has enjoyed much success in her practice using this modality, especially incorporating DBT.

Dorothy had been in the helping profession for over ten years. Prior to her entering the mental health arena as a clinician, Dorothy enjoyed success in the business world including a stint on Wall Street. She received her undergraduate degrees in Economics (BS) and Business Management (BS) from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Her Masters in Social Work was granted at Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick campus. Since earning her MSW in clinical social work, Dorothy gained extensive knowledge and practical hands-on experience in both chemical addiction and mental health by working as a clinician for one of New Jersey’s largest Outpatient Companies, offering intensive assistance to patients and their families. Now in private practice, Dorothy provides individual counseling services to adolescents, adults and families. At the Center, Dorothy facilitates specialized groups for addiction, codependency, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and DBT skills training.

Dorothy is a Certified Arise Interventionist and consults, assesses and provides case management to families. Dorothy works closely with public and private schools to provide education and support to staff and students around substance abuse and mental health including harmful behaviors. Dorothy is an accomplished public speaker providing workshops and trainings. She is keenly connected to the legal community and collaborates with attorneys as necessary to assist clients facing incarceration and related problems with the law, often because of mental health and/or addiction.

Dorothy is committed to the ongoing enhancement of the field of social work. Continuing education and training are very important to her. She has increased her pedigree by taking courses, for example: to further understand adolescent health; how to effectively treat patients prone to self-harm; what works best when working with military families and veterans; and what it truly means to be care-giver within a family system facing a life changing event such as death, etc.

At present, Dorothy is advancing her studies through post graduate work at the Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Center of New Jersey located near her practice in Madison, NJ. Dorothy also volunteers monthly at Daytop’s The Edge program, for at risk youth struggling with substance abuse. Married with two college aged sons, Dorothy is an avid runner and healthy nutrition advocate who possesses a strong spiritual framework in all that she is about.
